It's been eight years since we have had a winter vacation in the snow. But until recently, on three separate spontaneous whims over the last couple of months, we trekked to the nearest mountains of So-Cal to either sled, ski and tube. Big Bear Lake is just a mere two hours away, yet it is far enough to feel completely removed from the chaotic noise of the city.
Over this past weekend, we spent an extra long weekend with family and the boys got to reconnect with their close-in-age cousins. Talk about a lot of men in one cabin! Nonetheless, it was relatively relaxing and we were spoiled by the beautiful weather. My sinuses were relieved by the clean air and my mental capacity unwound once I unplugged from technology.
I can't believe it took us this long to get back to the snow.
