August Mood Board

I officially have 6 months and counting to tackle what's left of my 2013 New Years Resolutions. I have tackled 1 out of the 4, and now I have to muster enough courage to tackle through the rest of the 3.  Launching my own business is one that I have been longing to start.  It's daunting. It's intimidating.  It's scary.  Yet, I think the time has come to get the wheels turning.  So at the start of the month - I am going to begin jotting down baby goals to get me there.

August also marks a time of back to school.  I always get nostalgic when it comes to the first day of school.  New back pack, fresh clothes, and new beginnings with teachers and classmates.  I long for that 'newness'.  Which is what brought me to creating this fresh and neutral color palette for this month's mood board.  To new beginnings. To a new month.

LA Blogger Influencer Event

One of the perks of my day job is getting the occasional invite to swanky events amongst LA's hip and trendy. In this instance, my brand hosted an event called the LA Blogger Influencer Event atop the Petit Ermitage Hotel.  Local Bloggers and Stylists had the opportunity to get a sneak preview of Marciano's up and coming Fall Collection.  It was an event for LA tastemakers to become familiar with our brand, socialize, and sip a few champagne cocktails.

Snapshots: Santa Barbara

I am so blessed to live in Southern California. To be surrounded by so many beautiful visit and see within hours.  Last weekend was Santa Monica, this past weekend was Santa Barbara, and next we will be heading to the mountains to Big Bear.  (Yes, I have been very spoiled this summer).  The intent of our trip was to have a quick weekend getaway to celebrate my Dad's birthday, and Santa Barbara was a good mid point between me and my parents.  The destination is a quick hour and a half drive in the car, yet it seems a far distance from the busy city life of Los Angeles.  It's such a serene beach town with a lifestyle that yields peace and quiet.  We got to visit the zoo and have intimate feedings with the giraffes, we rented 4 wheel bikes and cruised on the boardwalks, but most of all enjoy the beautiful sound of the ocean.

Feminine Edge

When it comes to layering options, get edgy with a leather moto jacket and forgo the typical sweater cardigan.  This edgy feminine look has been popping up everywhere and now I have been begging Mother Nature for cooler temps to allow me to indulge in this trend.

DIY: Onesie Floral Bouquet

I often get asked for gift ideas for baby showers or baby arrivals.  These onesie floral bouquets are top of my list for favorite gift idea.  They are very easy to make, and are great surprises for moms-to-be.  I would choose onesie sizes that range from 0-6 months.  Any bigger would distort the look of a flower.  Choose onesies that are bright and colorful and have very little to no print.  Baby socks, towels and burp cloths are also great options to make flowers.

It's a Prince!

For those nearest and dearest to me, they would know that I am an oracle of knowledge when it comes to celebrity gossip and pop culture.  I am addicted to my US Weekly, glued to Yahoo!OMG, and on my social media feeds hourly. So when I heard that the Princess Kate was in labor today, I was stalking all routes of media to follow any breaking news on the future heir to the throne.  This is a girl who woke up at 3AM to watch the live coverage of Kate and Will's wedding.  So I was committed to this in a crazy stalker way!

What do you think Will and Kate will name their prince? Royal Highness ______ Prince of Cambridge.

Snaps: Around Here

It was the perfect weekend to stick around town and head west to Santa Monica beach with friends.  I often take for granted what beautiful sites we have in Los of them being the Pacific Ocean.  It's not the kindest body of water, and doesn't welcome leisurely swimming without a wetsuit, but the crashing waves against the shore and the sea breeze scent is often therapeutic for my rapid lifestyle.

Happy Weekend

So grateful for a weekend to relax and lounge.  The past weeks have really been hectic with planning Lil Tyty's birthday and swim classes every day over the past 2 weeks.  But now I finally have a weekend to kick back and relax and catch up with life.  You can find me by the beach at the Annenberg Beach House....a great summer destination for families.  Located in Santa Monica, it's a public beach house and community that is free (huge plus!) clean and entertaining for the kids.  What are your plans on this lovely weekend?

7 Year What?

This past Monday would mark the 7 year wedding anniversary for me and the Hubs.  It's a giant milestone that is both exciting yet unnerving.  Ahem...The infamous 7 year itch?!? But in looking back over the years, we've endured a healthy relationship together and tackled life's many challenges as a team. The Hubs started and finished grad school.  I left and came back to my job.  The Hubs started a new job. We bought a home.  And the obvious, had 2 babies.  Marriage isn't necessarily a walk in the park everyday.  Some days are rainbows and flowers and others we want to rip each other's faces off. Nonetheless, I love the man I married and hope for a 75th anniversary one day.

400 - something Post

I have been constantly on-the-go the last couple weeks and seem to have over looked a big milestone for PiC. The 400th post (plus 5)!  I am pretty stoked to have reached this bench mark since 300 and 200. And I think I am finally getting into a rhythm and have learned to better prioritize and focus my content.  Also avoided killing myself by not forcing content every day and taking breaks here and there when necessary.  So what are my goals for the next 100? Gaining more readership.  According to the Hubs, I need not so many words.... "whore put myself out there more" on social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter.  Aaaaagh! I don't know why that is so daunting to me.  I am not one to just "show what my momma gave me"...I am more timid, humble...and would rather stick with my comfort zone thru Pinterest and Instagram.  But, I need to push myself out of my comfort zone and just do it.  Here's to the next 100.  Find me on twitter and instagram.
