I never strive to be a "perfect mom'...in fact, the benchmark I aspire for is wading above water, just trying to keep these kids alive. And a few weeks ago, an instance occurred that reminded me I am not the quintessential mom. So to be frank, what I did was lock my kids in the car. Keys and cell phone included. In 85 degree weather. In rush hour traffic on a busy street. It was horrible. Mortifying. Panic spewed. I won't go through the sordid details of how it happened, why it happened. But I can thank my eldest prince for saving the day. Fortunately, he was not strapped to his carseat. So I guided him to find my keys and pop the rear door open - a mere 15 minutes of panic later. So I write this post to share with other mothers. I juggle a life as a career woman, aspiring blogger, wife, and mom - but I do not consider myself the perfect mother. I am just trying to keep it real and share the real.
