Paris Couture: Rue de Fur

No crowd is more chic than the ones perusing the rues de Paris.   It’s currently fashion week in the city of lights and it appears that fur coats are the most desirable cover ups for the Parisians.  The furs are not just limited to black and now seen on the streets in various colors and full of volume.

Snapshots: Birthday Weekend

I am so sad that the long weekend is over.  Every detail of my birthday was just right… and it was less about extravagant parties and more about intimate time spent with friends and family (a caveat that I have learned as I progress through my thirty-somethings).  The boys and I spent the day at the Aquarium of the Pacific, got a much needed mani/pedi with a girlfriend, munched on dinner at the Hotel Bel Air and then off to the Ojai Valley Inn for a little get away.  Not one complaint on record and a big nod to the Hubs who did a  tres magnifique job with the birthday itinerary!

500th Post

There’s lots to celebrate here in PiC. This is the 500th post for the blog, and it is my thirty-something birthday. Woot! Woot!  It’s been a nice and quiet celebration with dear friends and family - and now I am heading off to Ojai for the weekend for some good ‘ole adult time.  Cheers to another 500 posts and many, many, many more years of health and happiness!

Snaps: Journey of a Dress - DVF Exhibit at LACMA

It is on my bucket list to attend a couture fashion week show before I die.  But until then, when Paris or London call, I can attend fashion exhibitions that are hosted locally in LA.  One of the more recent ones is the installation of Diane Von Furstenburg’s exhibit “Journey of a Dress” at the LACMA.  The exhibit is a celebration to DVF’s 40th anniversary of her iconic wrap dress and features portraits through out her years as a designer, icon and celebrity to the fashion industry.  The features of her bold prints hung from wall to ceiling, and the hundreds of mannequins wearing her styles were so awe-inspiring and overwhelming -- it was a fashion moment I will never forget!

Be Mine

I have been keeping myself busy helping Big D out with his first DIY Valentine cards - which I think I am more excited than he is in distributing to his fellow classmates!  So now that his are over and done with, I thought I would move on to more sophisticated looking Valentine cards.  I created a couple of kitschy yet simple Valentine note cards that are available for a free download.  Check out the link below (let’s hope it works, bear with me as I am trying to learn how to embed files onto le’ blog!).  What do you think?

February Mood Board

Oh my goodness...It has been a looooooong hiatus from blog-ville.  Nights with out my laptop have been quite indulgent yet also addicting.  Where one night off became two, and then three and here I am almost 2 weeks later! It was nice to kick back and relax and not have to exert brain activity and just veg…So I am back from my siesta and ready to start writing and creating again.  February is a fun month to create moods.  It’s a time full of pinks and reds, love, kisses and hearts.

Oh and my birthday too :)
