Southern California has been rattling and shaking over the past couple of weeks with earthquakes. Living in California for all my life, I haven’t experienced so many terrifying jolts until now. And besides me, my little 4 year old has been asking a lot about earthquakes, 'why they happen?' and the unanswerable question of 'when they happen?' . While I cannot answer or predict when the next earthquake happens, I have been drilling the little ones in anticipation of “the big one”.

For being one of the most private and secluded couples in Hollywood, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin publicly announced today their separation after 10 years of marriage. As featured on Gwyneth’s blog and newsletter, GOOP, the couple gave a heartfelt essay on their divorce titled “Conscious Uncoupling”. (PS. as of now, the site has crashed several times through out today, so good luck with links!) As a hopeless romantic, I truly
believed hoped both would defy any change in relationship status and be one to last forever: a Coldplay rockstar and movie actress/lifestyle guru.

Since being on social media hiatus, I have been well vested and versed in the CNN coverage for missing Malaysia Airline Flight #370. All we now know is the wreckage has yet to be found, but the fates of the 239 people on board have been sadly determined as ‘lost’. I can’t begin to fathom what these families are going through - the gut-wrenching painful loss and the many unanswered questions.
Who? Why? How?
Until the moment of truth, all we can do is pray for those on the plane, as well as the families and friends that dearly miss them.

Ever since I have wallpapered my foyer and my bathroom (see previous post here), I have been brainstorming on more creative ways to use the remainder of extra rolls and scraps. I hate to waste such fun patterns so I just may use them to accent my closet space as seen below.

Grassy fields, hot dogs and baseball are now our Saturdays as Big D starts off his Little League season.
The most exciting part of Opening Day? Seeing little 4 year olds run through a cheering crowd, applauded by baseball players across all ages and teams, and running around the bases in the baseball stadium. All of this boy-stuff is unfamiliar territory for me - but it’s fun living and learning it and especially watching my proud husband get nostalgic over the game.

In case you follow me on social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram you probably noticed that there has been radio silence on my feed - no posting, no liking and certainly no engaging. And there's a soul purpose behind this. For my Christian readers, you will understand that this Wednesday marked the beginning of Lent season. This is a time for self-atonement and repentance, and my act of reflecting this year will be giving up social-media for the next 40 days and 40 nights. This will, and has been, such a hard sacrifice since I am constantly on social. Every free moment I am on my phone - swiping through feeds and stalking daily updates. So now, instead of wasting my time on the phone, I am taking this time for some self-atonement and especially to spend more quality time with my kids and family.
PS. for those I love and know dearly, please email or call me with big life updates - I hate to miss out on your growing babes, pregnancies, new jobs and weddings, etc!

There were many magical moments during the 86th Annual Academy Awards last night. The infamous #selfie that broke twitter records, Jared Leto's moving acceptance speech, Pharell's happiest of "Happy" performance, John Travolta's name fumble, and Lupita Nyong'o's Cinderella moment with her Prada gown and Fred Leighton headband. Of course, the highlight of the evening were the red carpet arrivals. Whose were your favorites?
The red carpet looks below were my most noteworthy:
